Melbourne, Australia to re-enter Stage 3 lockdown after record case increase
In the beleaguered Australian state of Victoria, which today reported 191 new coronavirus cases – breaking yesterday’s one-day record – Premier Daniel Andrews is speaking now.
He has reimposed Stage 3 stay at home restrictions on the Melbourne metropolitan area for six weeks.
“We have to be realistic about the circumstances we confront. We have to be clear with each other that this is not over. And pretending that it is over is not the answer,” he says.
“There is simply no alternative.”
Border to NSW closed as well … QLD borders will reopen 10 July 2020.
